ABYC Composite Boat Builder

ABYC Composite Boat Builder is a portable industry credential issued by American Boat & Yacht Council — writes the standards for boat building and repair. It is recognised by employers wherever the trade is practised, independent of the school that trained you.

It proves that the holder has been examined against a published standard — knowledge on a written exam and, in most cases, an observed practical performance — and has met the standard of American Boat & Yacht Council.

At VoTechWorks the credential is earned inside the programs that carry it (Fiberglass / Composites (boatbuilding)): the universal core, one competency course per curriculum area with a written exam, an observed skills demonstration and a signed log each, a capstone, an externship, then exam preparation and the credential exam itself, sat at the school's authorized testing center or the body's own site.
